This policy explains what information we collect on this website, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices. By using this website you accept the practices described here.
This website is operated by the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres & Retailers (MECSR), publisher of Retail People Magazine and The Headliner. MECSR is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

When you buy The Headliner: your name, email address and billing country, collected by our payment provider at checkout. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure page and never reach us.
When you submit your Headliner details: your name, designation, company, location, bio, optional cover quote, LinkedIn profile links and the photo you upload.
When you join the newsletter: your email address.
Automatically: basic technical information such as your browser type and the pages you visit, collected without cookies to understand how the site is used. It does not identify you.
To deliver what you purchased: writing, designing, reviewing and publishing your Headliner feature, and, if you chose the website add-on, showing your profile on this website for the period you paid for.
To communicate with you about your order, for example payment confirmation, reminders to submit your details, and the notice that your feature is live.
To send the newsletter you signed up for, and to run and improve this website, prevent fraud and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
The Headliner is a published feature. Once approved, your name, title, company, cover quote, photo and the text written from your bio are published on MECSR's LinkedIn page and our Instagram, Facebook and X (Twitter) channels, and, with the website add-on, on this website. You and your company may be tagged. Published posts can be seen, shared and saved by others, which we cannot control once they are online.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
We use trusted service providers who process it only on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Supabase (secure database and file storage), Resend (sending emails) and Vercel (website hosting). Their servers may be located outside the UAE, including in the United States, the European Union and India.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights or users, or as part of a reorganisation of MECSR.
The public website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may store your light or dark mode choice on your device. The staff area uses a sign-in cookie for our team only.
We keep order and payment records for as long as required for accounting and legal purposes. We keep your submitted details and photo for as long as needed to produce and publish your feature and to answer questions about it afterwards. Website profiles are taken down when the paid period ends. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, by emailing team@mecsr.org. Some records, such as payment records, may need to be kept to meet legal obligations. Requests to remove a feature that has already been published on social media will be handled as far as the platforms allow.
We take appropriate measures to protect your information. Submitted photos are stored privately, access to order details is limited to authorised MECSR staff, and all connections to this website are encrypted. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
This website links to other sites, such as LinkedIn and Stripe, that have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for how they handle your information.
This website is intended for professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page.
